1.  Version 3.0 to be “Unveiled” in Vail

 

The best constantly strive to get better. In keeping with this philosophy, the new and improved MasterMine Version 3.0 will be unveiled and demo’d in Vail. Among the enhanced features will be:

Basic Training Topics

Basic MasterMine training covers the skills needed to generate and make use of standard MasterMine reports. Topics include: Toolkit and Report Selection, Standard Report Contents, Simple Customization, Field Selection, PivotTable Organization, Simple Grouping, 'And' vs 'Or' Filtering, Drilldown for Detail, Drilldown to GoldMine, Creating GoldMine Groups, One-Button Graphing, PLUS VAR Sales Support, Marketing and Training Options.

 

Advanced Training Topics

Every MasterMine VAR needs at least one “power-user” and “advanced report” designer. This session expands upon use of job-function-based toolkits, specialized queries in MSQuery, and utilizing SQL and dBase expressions to fine-tune query contents. Topics include:  Advanced Grouping and Selecting in PivotTables, Modifying the Query for Existing Reports, Linking to External Tables, Toolkit Options, Managing GoldMine Through MasterMine, Sharing Reports Between Users.

 

Large Database Analysis and Management with MasterMine

This course covers strategies for conveniently handling and displaying appropriate results from databases with accounts numbering more than 10,000 records. Topics include:  Understanding PivotTable Limitations, Pre-Query Filtering, Selecting Fields to Include, Optimizing the Query in MSQuery, Using Page Field Options for table-based query filtering.

Wednesday, Aug 15 “Demos and Desserts”

MasterMine and Sales Magic will host a “Demos and Desserts” hospitality room from 6:45 – 9:45 on Wednesday, August 15, right after the welcoming cocktail reception. Attend alternating half hour demos, learn about v3.0 enhancements, and get your “just desserts.”  This event replaces the previously scheduled Wednesday evening Basic Training.

 

4.  NEW! Learn and Earn with MasterMine Training

 

Beginning in September, MasterMine will offer several “Face-to-Face” Training Packages, designed to help you train your entire sales and technical staff, assist with client demos onsite or in your office, and profit from client training, all at the same time!  We want to help you become a more effective MasterMine/GoldMine sales organization at little or no cost to you!

5.  User Tip: Clean Your DataBase! (Quickly and Easily)

 

Use MasterMine to easily clean your database. Because MasterMine shows you everything in your database, even what you don’t expect to find, problem data stands out. Here’s how to quickly and easily take care of it:

 

First, use your Pivot Table to isolate problem or non-normalized data. Double click to drill down and see detail on target segments. Now use the “grouping” button (  ) on the MasterMine Tool Bar to build a GoldMine group. Finally, use “global replace” or step through problem records one by one and fix them.

David Beldin of Tailored Automation, Inc. is the winner of the first “Mine Your Own Business” Contest! One of the Top 25 GoldMine VARs in the first quarter of 2001, Tailored Automation has headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, and has just opened a second office in Kansas City.
