How do I download software?
At the Reseller HOME page,  (www.masterminevar.com), click on "Download Software".  The VAR Password is required.  You fill out a short form to say for whom you're downloading, but it's much shorter than the full end-user form.


How can my clients download software?
Your clients can download and install the current software by going to your company's own specially designed Website and clicking on "Download Trial" or visiting our Home page at www.mastermine.net. Then they must completely fill out the form and follow the prompts.  They will NEED to have GoldMine open when you install and have Excel set to accept macros.  If they are installing MasterMine on your server, they will also need to know how to access the GoldMine data there.  Once the download is completed, they must restart GoldMine and check in the View menu for two new entries.

How long is downloaded trial software good for?
The trial software you download can be installed as many times as you like.  The demo installation will work until 14 days AFTER its third use.  That means you can install the software, do a short demo, and the timer doesn't start on expiration until the 3rd time your client uses it.


Where is the user manual?
The user manual is a .pdf file found under "Help" in the MasterMine report creation dialog. You can also find it in the MasterMine program folder, under "Start", "Programs", "MasterMine".  You must have the free Acrobat reader to read this file.


What are the system requirements?  Windows, Excel, MSQuery?

Does MasterMine serve markets beyond GoldMine?
MasterMine Software currently works only with GoldMine.  We are open to developing to other platforms.  Contact us to express your desires for MasterMine-like functionality with other products.


Can MasterMine link in data from other software products?
It IS possible to link in similar data from other sources (SQL to SQL, dBase to dBase) to your existing GoldMine reports.  Ask your sales representative for details on linking data from outside sources.
How do I become a dealer? 
You must be a legitimate, current GoldMine dealer to receive regular sales margins.

What does the VAR program include?
Details are HERE at, (http://www.masterminevar.com/VARProgram08.html) but in summary:  In addition to free NFRs and training, active VARs receive a free listing on our GoldMine Dealer locator, free brief-incident support, commission-payments for any support or customization you sell that we supply, full margins on referral sales.  In other words:  Your clients are protected, and you get paid for whatever you do to sell MasterMine software or services!


What are the ongoing requirements for dealers?
Dealers must continuously and actively market and sell MasterMine.  They must link their Website to MasterMine's.  There are no annual fees, no certification requirements, no hassle.  Just stay active selling MasterMine to remain current.  As few as ONE new-customer sale per quarter keeps you in the game.  Threshholds of $5000 and $9000 per quarter give you higher margins. 


How do I get NFR licenses? 
Get as many NFR seats as you need, for sales reps, executives (for internal use), and for all you training machines.  Join the VAR Program at the level that suits your company.  Download and install the "trial" software, which licenses to full functionality. Get licenses over the phone when you join our VAR program.


What does it cost?
With a simple commitment, you can get started dealing MasterMine for FREE.  Just start by demonstrating your access to legitimate GoldMine-using clients, and we'll work with you to get started.

When and how am I paid?
You are paid two ways:

1. Receive immediate payment by purchasing software and services from MasterMine at the VAR discounted price at time of ordering, using your credit card.  The discount is your payment, and you receive the benefits of your credit card grace period.  License and maintenance certificates are delivered to you immediately, for forwarding to the client when you have received payment.
2. For any sale in which we receive direct payment from the client, remittances to VARs are made soon after the end of the current calendar quarter.


Is there a "Referral-only" option?
If you do not wish to make MasterMine a part of your regular GoldMine practice, but you would like to make money without further effort beyond referrals, we still pay a finders' fee for qualified referrals.

How are margins calculated?
VAR margin levels depend upon your level in the VAR Program.  Higher margins kick in immediately on your next sale after achieving each level and stay in effect until the end of the following quarter.  Each quarter, margin levels are re-set based upon sales achieved in the prior quarter.


What is the support program for VARs and our Clients?
VARs may call upon MasterMine support for minor technical or report-design issues during regular business hours at no cost.  If support effort requires the MasterMine technician to join the VAR online in a webconference, our usual support rates will apply. No charges are levied without prior consent from the VAR representative.


What training is offered for VARs?
MasterMine provides extensive, FREE online training for VAR sales reps, technicians, and managers who demonstrate active interest in selling MasterMine product.  Just ask.  We only ask a reasonable give-and-take, our support for your sales/marketing effort.


What product customization is offered, which VARs can re-sell?
We can customize reports, templates, and toolkits for your customers or for you  and train you to do the work profitably at the same time.  MasterMine has done many custom reports that amaze and profoundly reward our clients.  Ask us about whether "you can do that in MasterMine."  Chances are we can, and you can too  cheaper, better, faster than any other method.

You can offer customization yourself, or subcontract jobs to us.  We're happy to support either way.


What other consulting services are available for resale?
"Facilitated Analysis" is our highest-value service, and you can use it to broaden your own profitable consulting offerings, while vastly increasing your clients' satisfaction with GoldMine.  What if your client got instant access to ANY GoldMine data, built and deployed useful reports and analyses in seconds, and did this personally accompanied by the inventor of MasterMine himself?

"Facilitated Analysis" is a 3 to 6 hour engagement, online or in-person, in which Rob Machalek, the creator of MasterMine, personally accompanies the client in a thorough "mining" of his GoldMine data, delving into whatever areas the client feels would most serve his information needs. 

Machalek, an established business AND technical consultant, conducts these "explorations" with the customer, along the way discovering hidden business opportunities and data-based trends, business process improvements, and opportunities for data clean-up.  Machalek provides not only the knowledge but the tools and coaching to extract these highly valuable nuggets out of GoldMine.  And for you, the VAR, he very often reveals further system development opportunities for YOU to deploy, that will heighten the Information return from GoldMine for your customer.

An appointment must be set up at least two days in advance.  Facilitated Analysis may be conducted though online screen-sharing, or in person.  All expenses and fees must be covered by the client at time of service.
How many seats should I order?

How is licensing done (for End Users)?
The trial software, downloadable at any time from our website, is licensed by entering a valid license number when launching MasterMine.  In Demo mode, MasterMine requests licensing every time it is launched.  MasterMine licenses are tied to the GoldMine serial number of the user, so they may not be re-used across various GoldMine sites.  Site licenses also require ownership of at least as many seats of MaserMine as there are GoldMine seats. 


What is the ballpark cost for end users?
Users can choose site licensing or named-user licensing.  Full pricing info is HERE.
For initial sale, include basic software cost, annual maintenance, support, and training.  For a typical mid-size GoldMine installation, expect $1000 to $5000.


How does a Site license work?
Install MasterMine on each workstation.  Enter the license number on each station to register.  Centralized license management is available for larger installations. All users' license numbers are the same, but there is a check against the total GoldMine seats.  If the Goldmine seat count rises, MasterMine will cease to function until additional MasterMine seats are purchased to match. 


How does Named-user license work?
Install MasterMine on each workstation.  Assign licenses one-by-one to GoldMine users, appending 01, -02, -03 sequentially.  Keep a record as each license is "burned" so you know how many are left and to whom they are assigned.


How can we ADD users to an existing MasterMine installation?
Simply order additional Full-user or Share-user licenses as you need them.  License numbers are e-mailed out within one business day of ordering.  When the new user installs and runs MasterMine the first time, he/she may enter the new license key in the opening screen by clicking "Register Now". 

Do you still sell Site Licenses to new MasterMine users?
We still sell "expansion" licenses to existing site-license users, but new users all purchase a combination of Full-user and Share-user licenses, which follow the named-user model.  More traditional "Site Licenses", which enable unlimited users on the system to use MasterMine at either the Share or Full-User level, regardless of how many GoldMine users there are, are still available.  See the pricing page.

Can we convert from a Named-user license to Site license?
Yes.  After 30 days, receive 80% credit for the Named-user license against the full Site license price.  Install as normal for a site license.


Can we convert from a Site license to a Named-user license?
Yes.  Purchase the named user license at regular price and receive 50% credit for the site license.  Uninstall MasterMine from all workstations that will no longer be operative.  Assign new Named-user licenses on each workstation that will be licensed, until all remaining Site licensed machines are overwritten.


How do we purchase and install version upgrades?
To purchase; see the pricing page on the website.  Version upgrades are free for those on current annual maintenance.  Place your order here.
To install; download the current software from www.mastermine.net and install over the existing software.  Be sure to put it in the same location to avoid confusing GoldMine's menu system.  It is not necessary to uninstall the existing software, unless you are changing locations of the application.


Is there a return policy?
MasterMine is guaranteed and fully refundable up to 30 days from date of purchase.  Once licensed, an authorized agent of the client company must certify in writing that all copies of the software and license numbers and certificates have been destroyed, and that they will make no use whatsoever of MasterMine software, or reports generated by MasterMine software, whether licensed or unlicensed, from that day forward.
How many seats should I order?

How can I register leads to ensure I get credit for my sales efforts?
Install this easy-to-use GM+View script in GoldMine.  From this form, you can simply click a single button in GoldMine to register a lead as "yours".  MasterMine makes every effort to fairly compensate GoldMine dealers who refer leads. 

How do I place an order?  Is there an online store?
Fill in this online form.  We need your client's complete contact information, I.E.(Name, Company, Phone Number, Address, Email, and Web Address) and their primary GoldMine license number.

If we have your credit card info on file, you will receive receive license and maintenance certificates via e-mail within 1 business day.

We do NOT process credit cards online, so that we may protect your security.  Please call to put your credit card information on file with us, so that orders are expedited.


What do I need before I place the order? 
1.GoldMine license number, first 13 characters, like this:  X-0000-99999999 or X-000000-999999
2.Credit card info (terms are available for sales over $2500)
3.Number of GoldMine seats at the user site (if purchasing site license)
4.Number of MasterMine seats desired


How long must we wait for delivery?
License certificates are e-mailed within 1 business day of receipt of payment.  Software is all downloadable. Media is not sent through the postal service.


Is there support for installation issues?
Bug fixes and installation issues are free in almost every case.  Issues arising from non-standard system arrangements or systems that don't meet our published system requirements, or which require significant involvement of our engineering staff are charged on an hourly basis.  There is no charge without prior consent.
How does Annual Maintenance work?
Annual Maintenance is required with your initial purchase.  Current AM clients receive free version upgrades.  Users who request online support services pay a surcharge if they are not current on annual maintenance. 

Annual Maintenance is due on the anniversary of the first purchase of software.  It must be upgraded (prorated to keep the same anniversary date) when software seats are added. 

Annual Maintenance does NOT include free report-writing support, though one free technical support incident is included with the initial purchase.


How are customers notified when Annual Maintenance is due?
MasterMine e-mails the user well before maintenance is due.  Users are expected to renew their Annual Maintenance directly by contacting MasterMine Software, Inc. or via their GoldMine reseller.  Resellers do not keep a portion of the maintenance fee as commission.
Can I get help presenting MasterMine to my clients?

How can I protect my clients and prospects from competition with other GoldMine vendors? 
MasterMine is NOT a competing GoldMine VAR. We do not sell or configure GoldMine as our business.  We will not solicit regular VAR services to clients that compete with yours.  However, we DO take steps to ensure that in relation to MasterMine, the best analytical service is rendered to the client.

To protect your prospects, always register them with us when you do the demo.  Do this automatically as part of the download process, or ask them to do so if they download for themselves.  Apart from downloading, you can register MasterMine prospects with us separately by going to the VAR webpage here:  http://www.mastermine.net/form-regview.php

ONCE YOU ARE SPECIFIED AS THE VAR OF RECORD, you take precedence to receive commission on any software sale to the client.  This is true even if you do not close the deal yourself, if the sale occurs within a reasonable time or if you maintain reasonable continuous contact with the client regarding MasterMine.  

We never offer MasterMine directly for less than full retail price, and we accept "direct" sales only when there is no VAR involved or a prospect has asserted that their decision to purchase the product was not influenced by any VAR. 

We reserve the right to "drip market" to known prospects, and to pursue direct sales to "orphaned" accounts which have shown no progress after a reasonable period of time, typically at least six months since previous VAR contact. 

Of course, the best way to ensure you receive due credit is to stay with the deal through close and collect payment yourself.   However, recognizing that this is not always possible, MasterMine makes every effort to properly credit VARs for their work in making MasterMine sales.  We pride ourselves on a very positive reputation in the GoldMine VAR community for this reason. 


Will you contact my clients after they purchase?
From time to time, MasterMine offers deeper support services to existing clients, such as training, report customization, and analytical support.  Our emphasis is on providing the best possible service to our end-user clients.  This service does not compete with your regular VAR services, but should be considered an enhancement of your service.

Your best opportunity is to use MasterMine as an "in" to maintain continuous contact with your clients. 
No matter how long after the GoldMine sale, analytics is a continuous need for any serious GoldMine installation.

How is MasterMine positioned versus other report writers?
